Meet beautiful women from Ukraine
I was supposed to be in Kiev with the other teachers from my school for today’s end of year party. Unfortunately, as I mentioned previously, I have been sick for the past couple of days. My little sister in Boston told me that there was a flu going around in America last year in which the main symptom was soreness and pain in the body. My body still feels as if I was beaten. The biggest pain is in my lower back on the left side. I feel like the hunchback of Notre Dame.
An English teacher and friend of mine went with me to see the woman doctor/healer named Vera that come from a village. Vera gave me an antibiotic and some natural medicine to take in order to feel better. Unfortunately, the pharmacy didn’t have all of the recommended medicine, so my friend and I had to go to a second pharmacy to get the medicine.
If you have never taken the train trolley, I recommend it just for the experience. These trolley trains are so heavy and so old that I cannot even describe them to you. We got onto the train and had to stand up. There was a lady, probably about 60, Jewish from Georgia originally (not the state) that did not shut up for the entire 20 minutes we were on this trolley. She made one joke after another after another about me, about Americans, about the girl I was with, about my ability to speak and understand Russian and many other stupid topics. She said that she could talk the hind end off of a donkey, but my friend just stopped translating for me after a few minutes, saying, "she is just talking nonsense.”
One of the things that will always be difficult to get used to is the fact that often times, all eyes are on the foreigner. All 70 or so people on this trolley are looking at me and listening to this woman give me a hard time. Boy, was she ugly and she smelled horrible to boot. The girl I was with was covering her nose in order to shield herself from the smell, this only fueled this old lady to make jokes about her too. After 20 minutes of being the center of attention for everyone on that trolley, it was nice to finally get off.
I have a lot more to share, but I will wait until later or tomorrow. There were some developments with the girl from Izmail as well as the other girl that I went to dinner with a couple of nights ago, but we’ll save that for tomorrow.
